What is a Accident Replacement Vehicle?

An “accident replacement vehicle" is a loan car provided to a not at fault driver whilst their damaged car is being repaired or in the event of a Total Loss, the time taken for the costs to be settled.

But I don't have a hire car option on my insurance policy?

Not to worry.

If you’re not at fault in an accident with another vehicle, it’s your legal right to be put back into the position you were in prior to the accident. This means being provided with an accident loan car similar to your own whilst your car is being repaired, or until your total loss settlement is paid.

What are my obligations to Zoom Car Hire?

A copy of your Drivers Licence and a signature on our Rental Agreement & Authority to Act is usually enough to settle our costs with the at-fault insurer.

Does this affect my No Claims Bonus or Rating 1?

Absolutely not.

We do not claim or involve your insurance policy in any way.

We recover the cost from the at-fault driver's insurance policy.

What happens if I have an accident in the hire car?

We understand accidents do happen and all our vehicles are covered by insurance. If you're involved in an accident with our hire car please contact us immediately.

How much do I pay for the hire?

Nothing, the hire cost is recovered by us from the at-fault insurer. Understandably you are responsible for any incidental costs such as tolls and/or fines.

Do you have any age restrictions?

Our insurance liability requires you to be a minimum of 25 years of age to hire our vehicles.

Can I add an additional driver?

If they are over 25 years of age and have a valid Drivers Licence, yes indeed.

I've been asked to signing a Release Form?

On occasion the at-fault insurer may request you sign a release form.

Please contact us immediately as doing so

may restrict our ability to recover the hire cost.
